Hi Jolan
I had a bit of time to look today and I thought they were all cracking clues.
My suggestions are the following. I’m not sure about 5.

1. Could be a swan song, primarily for musicians (10) TRUMPETERS (Trumpeter is a swan plus s first letter of song)

2. Curious naturalists extract salt from small furry animals (7) NUTRIAS (Anagram of naturalists less salt or extracted)

3. Returning, we hound lady outside entrance? (7) BEWITCH (We reversed in hound lady as in female dog or bitch)

4. Astronomical unit leading to high point used to greet the dawn (6) AUBADE- a song to greet the dawn. (AU astronomical unit + BAD or high + E or point as in East)

5. Part-time impresario hires ET for the display (3,5) TEE SHIRT (Part time or T + anagram of hires ET indicator is impresario or organiser of events- display is definition.

Just the one as I have been out too much today and other distractions.
2. nutrias (subtractive anagram)
I wish I had longer to try the other clues, as they all look brilliant. Jg

I see the hidden set forth, but does that mean that "-time impresario" is just excess baggage?

Well done folks!
Fieryjack's the one this week.
Hi also to ginge and Djaw.

#5 It's always difficult to word this so that the brill solvers will not say "Ah! there it is in there". That's the reason for my 'happiness'. Heh,heh, heh! I'll wear my hair shirt later.

And yes, Ari. Just 'fluff' to hide the solution.

1. ‘trumpeter’ could be a swan; ‘song’ primarily = s; TRUMPETERS = musicians

2. subtractive anag (extract from & curious) of “naturalists” – “salt” = NUTRIAS = coypus

3. returning ‘we’ = ew; hound lady? = bitch; “hound lady outside” = b(ew)itch = BEWITCH = entrance

4. astronomical unit = AU; high = bad (Chambers and Oxford Thes’i); point = E; yielding AUBADE = a musical announcement of dawn; a sunrise song (Chambers defs) = used to greet the dawn.

5. “part” of “time impresario hireS ET FOR The” = SET FORTH = to display (Chambers def)

Thank you very much for participating.

Bless

John.
