Thanks for any hint. There may be a misprint in the clue.

The first word should be tots. I don't think the clue quite works because "pedal" is the proper word intended but before the misprint is corrected it seems as though "peddle" is meant. The whole thing is something very young children might ride (it's something I'd never heard of before) and the word is hyphenated.
