Good Evening, All.

Yes, I found this not too bad once I had got into it, but for the first quarter hour or so, I had only half a dozen answers, When I got some of the longer answers things seemed to fall into place.

Hope all are well.

Best wishes

Hello everybody.
I think I've finished but I'm not totally sure of 7 across. Is "con" a word which can be used to mean "study"? I seem to recall learning that some time ago, but if I'm wrong I just don't understand the clue. Not unusual!

Had a few problems logging on to the forum yesterday and today, but finally here. I agree with torvic as 4d was also my favourite(when the penny finally dropped ) I would like to see more of that type of clue, as too many anagrams can be a bit dull. Nice to see Mr Pipesmoker. Best wishes. Jg

...and for those without the crossword, 4d clue reads:

Dear Sir, L (6-6)

I don't understand 17d though.

Sport needing six-footer? (7)

Cricket fits, and it's a sport, and they hit sixes (some of them!), but how does footer come in to it?

I came to this late, and found it the hardest for ages (not just from lack of brain use on holiday either, as I haven't had much problem with other crosswords since returning).
Part of the problem was never having heard of 18ac or 13dn !
