Looks like I'm bringing up the rear as usual! For 17a "about to go behind sports ground hosting live thriller" I've got REBECCA, but can't see why. And 22d "drum up business thus, within the law": I can only get "saltant" (from a x-word machine but not in a dictionary!), or saliant (as an alternative spelling of salient) which I can't parse from the clue.

Rec is short for recreation or sports ground.
Be is live.
Ca is the abbreviation of circa meaning about.
Thriller can be a book.
