Hi Chrisg
I've been looking at this on and off for a little while trying to figure an answer for a cryptic clue.
Silly me.
I think you have nailed it.
Maybe it wasn't cryptic at all.
;-).

cheers

Great guess Chrisg.
I can see "they're used" meaning stretched, ( but not stretchers), a bit like undies that should have been thrown away because they sag.
Unlike the youth of today that are happy to have their undies stay up whilst their trousers sag.
"What a sad look"
I'm very happy to state " my offspring have never embraced that style"
ps: neither have I

I agree with you busby. Likewise, none of my 5 children and 11 grandchildren have gone for the trousers at half mast look. But unfortunately I have recently had to invest in a pair of trouser braces to keep my trousers up. For some reason, when I reached 70 last year, my belly decided to relax and a belt simply doesn't do the job anymore!

I know what you're saying ChriseG. Even though I'm a tad younger.
I used to have "hips". but my gut seems to have taken over and my arse that used to help hold up trousers seems to have retired.
I haven't bought braces yet but I do need a belt. (Probably around the ears).
Oh woe is me!

Take care mate!!
