Im thinking it's Imagine (think) but missing the cryptic 'number'

Any offers well appreciated.

It must simply refer to imaginary number.

Equally "iffy" Imagine by John Lennon with a number being a song?

Number as in Pop Song - Imagine by Lennon ?

It makes me wonder with all the really prolific setters that we have within our grasp on this forum that for a professional setter to give us that piece of low grade clue that we could - more than supply a much better entry for a word.
I'm open to criticism
