Stuck on a few. Any ideas re-:

22d (5) 'English governor dismissing first mathematician'. I've got e-l-r

Also 20d (5) 'Dog nipping a writer and artist'. I've got p-a--

Finally, 25a (8) 'Chap with a garden mostly arranged - what goes with beans?'. I've got ---d-e-r and can only think 'headgear' or headwear' but don't get it.

Last one is "HE" (a chap) with "ADGEAR" (anag of
