can you think of a good example of a phrase where the two words can be swapped, is always my guideline. can't argue with Rogets tho.

Thanks so much for the Wintertime explanation. It was one of two left that I knew but didn't like! The other was 55 across for which I want Second Nature but I don't care for "playing"...?

Sudokulover, I don't think this was a prize crossword. It was part of the Times celebration of 100 years of crosswords. I don't know if this was an old crossword reprinted or something else entirely.
