This linesman takes off (5). Answer - Keats. I can see the answer is an anagram of takes, but where does the linesman come in?

Also, Little person involved in world war, fighting (5). Answer- dwarf. I can see little person is the definition, and the answer contains the word war, but the d and f are defeating me...

I have managed to solve 5 in this crossword, and understood 17 more, I'm not asking you to do it all for me :-)

look at worlD WAR Fighting - it's called a "hidden word"
