Very good, Chris!
Actually "dog's body", I see, is navy slang for PEASE Pudding, but I wanted you to stay in the Xmas spirit of course.
And "le pudding" means a roundabout: the French borrowed the idea from the British & now they just can't stop building new ones (it's safer, you know, though with French drivers....)

btw I see now how you misunderstood "drive round": a difficult point when teaching distinctions in English, believe me (phrasal verbs & all that)

Yes - you can drive round in a car, so you drive a car round, but you drive round a roundabout!

..........and I didn't know that French roundabouts were called "puddings" anyway.

I remember driving in France when "priorite a droite" was almost absolute, so you could be speeding down a main road and a farm tractor could pull out in front of you. Happy days!
