I simply can't make headway with todays Concise because 5 of the clues seem interconnected and meaningless. They are 8 and 20 ac and 1, 2, and 15 Dn. Is there anyone who can put me on the right path?

The number of letters in the answer would help those of us without the crossword, too.

rusty is right of course, letter counts help those without the puzzle.
