Right on, Aristo. The answer was obvious so didn't ponder the wordplay. Perhaps should have been:

50A. Aquatic slippers that come IN heels?

Though "slippers" is still problematic.

All you regular "Harpers" aficionados will appreciate February's was my 1st and I'm now going to slowly backtrack, hence the belated post. I hadn't intended catching up so early but I saw rosalind's glowing endorsement of this puzzle and I couldn't resist. I wasn't disappointed and to use one of aristo's adjectives, delightful is spot on. Love 21d.
