I am quite lost with this.

I had stew

Wets reversed

I am very grateful for that suggestion - better than any of my thoughts. Must admit I don't quite follow the line of reasoning - I'll check "wets" and "Stew"my in Chambers. I certainly welcome the for "w" ending".

Stew under 2nd heading in chambers is a fish tank

A hint in case you still need it, truron:
it has the same meaning as your 9-letter unclued one beginning with "m", and has a hyphen after the first 6 letters!
