AB is correct. here is an extract from a scots dictionary.

DSL - SND1 TONIE, n. The jelly-fish, Medusa. Also in comb. tonie-slavers, id. (Mry. 1930). See Slaver, n., 1. (3) (iii).
*Mry. 1960 E. Gilbert Ae Forenicht 16:
They buried dead tonies an’ starfish an’ crabs.
