1 NOISOME - definition "disgusting"; noise (sound) is "out of " (around) OM (Order of Merit)

2 NIDUS - Latin for "nest" or "breeding-place"; DIN (row) back, then US (UnServiceable).

I knew this one from Neottia nidus-avis, the "birdsnest orchid"

ELATIVE is another word that I've never come across, jolan - very tricky!
