I trust not too many of the letters supplied are misleading.

Thanks to Mamya, Ginge & G Kite for responding so quickly.

Vague memories of O Level Algebra still fail to suggest "parallel bars" as having anything to do with equations, but they seem to fit in ; nor had I ever heard of a "coverslip" : neither indeed had the "quick solve" section on this facility so I'm not feeling too ashamed of this ignorance.
