Local quiz, last two answers have been driving me mad. Any help appreciated.

These certainly are a couple of toughies! The closest
I can get on 36. is BOGOTA, which comprises an
unfinished "bog off" + "ta" for thank!! But this is
probably incorrect as it does not take into a/c the
"goodness" part of the clue. Just thought I'd mention
it in case it leads someone to something more in
keeping!

Its certainly better than anything I've come up with so it's a possibility. I had thought the other one could be Normandy comprising my and nomad for wandering but I'm not convinced.

Normandy isn't a city, unfortunately!

madrob83....could you give us a couple of examples of ones you've already solved? - that'll hopefully give us an idea of the difficulty and style.

That's a good shout ixion, I've not come up with anything yet.

I was thinking on the lines of a city starting with , Cor', or maybe Well' for No9 / Or even the word 'Gad' which is a euphemism for 'GOD' which could also be 'My!' and just a thought would be that the word 'Gad' also means to roam or wander ( To gad about)
