Any chance of the clues, Truron? I only know of one
word to fit the first one and that's SHAWNEE, as in
the North American indian.

I've got STARNIE which is S for Sun, followed by TARN (lake) and IE for "that is".

26D is SPUR = Kick out. That is half "bastard" or spurious.
