How is the title of this puzzle (PHENYTOINS) related to the tenth problem please ?

It is an anagram of a medical condition with one letter left over. The letters used in the condition have these letters in common with a related condition.

Sorry, I didn't put my second sentence very well. The first should be enough to get you the answer.

Thanks cloverjo ! I spotted the HYPO/HYPER potential in the title before realising I must have incorrectly attributed the change in 19 down to one of the extra words. Turned out to be 18 down, which I still don't fully understand.

The 8 clues I have with extra words are:

22, 24, 26, 36, 38, 40, 23 and 25

Which is the ninth please ?

Thanks again cloverjo - now I have a dilemma. I have YELLOW and PINK as two of the conditions, and presumably one should go with EYE, but I can't see the other's partner ( ? BOSOM ? COLON)

I didn't go with either of those. I went with something quite obscure, which I hadn't heard of before, so I just hope it's right.

It should really be a body part, but I wonder about YELLOW ILLNESS ?

I wondered about that too, but there is an obscure synonym for something similar in Chambers.

I see that now, and thank you for all your help on this one cloverjo.

It does seem that YELLOW JACK and YELLOW ILLNESS are equally obscure synonyms for YELLOW FEVER, which clearly fail the 'fairness to solvers' test.
(Having said that, pink eye is pretty obscure too !)
