Clue 2 starts with the 5th letter in clue 1

I have letter 'A' as 3rd letter in clue 1
& last letter in clue 1 as 'R'
So far clue 1 ==I ? A ??? R
& clue 2 ==? ? E ? O ? L

As clue 1 doesn't start with I could it be plaster (used in dressing) allowing the fifth letter to be T?
