Is anyone as baffled as I am today? I think I have 5A. I have left the first 'o' out of coho and made a suitable word. The clue was 'no Scottish salmon's lost over chips (6) ' but one word must be removed.

I'm still working on this one but I'm sure you're right for 5A, Jogamel. However, there is no word to be omitted in this one. I take the title to be an anagram.

Anagram of Trusts in Men? And looking at 31A which seems a straightforward clue, I have changed positions of L and R.

That's right and what you have is an obscure example of the theme. 31A is an example of the last 12 type of clues. There are many obscure words in this so be warned!

I think I see where you are going, especially now I see 14D. A long way to go, but thank you

Well, Orson, I am failing. I did so well but cannot crack the top left hand corner. Do you feel like giving me a clue?

10a is of the first type of clue. The definition is little man and uncle is a pawnbroker.

1d is of the third type of clue. Ham is an inexpert boxer and it comes in the middle of the word. But then you have to rearrange the letters to get a thematic object.

3d is of the second type of clue. Glues is the rogue word and a nur is a hard ball.
