I have four answers and a word of eight letters, but feel I am wide of the mark so will not post it, lol.

I'm glad I looked in again, you're full of surprises imagcq. I have an answer but obviously it's dependant on #4 being correct, which I'm basing on being quite close to home. Thanks again.

Second thoughts on 4, I'll post my original musing later.

Hi ab,
I came up with "table" for #2 but it doesn't give a unique anagram.
I originally had Nial for #4 a variation of Neil (my name) which means "a leader".
