1. One cat or 16 for a pound. Ounce

2. Pianist's short friend is carrying his work. Chopin

I'm assuming it's 'ch' (chum, short friend) followed by 'op' (work) but I can't work out where the 'in' comes from.

An ounce is a big cat and there are 15 ounces in a pound?
China - friend - a (short) + op ( work) = Ch op in - pianist?
