Hi all you happy people.
Couldn't resist Reply 100 to question your easy acceptance of such a childish word. Its on the level of schoolboy/toilet/bar room humour.
The word was neither known in UK (except to Rambler) or in any reputable UK dictionary.
Further its content was definitely not a topic for conversation in mixed company.
Incidentally (correct me if I'm wrong but very few ladies chose to participate - correctly I think).
Nobody can question Ramblers skill , cleverness and massive knowledge about most th.ings - sorry meant SOME things) but he could surely confine himself to what normally passes as decent and unoffensive allusions, double-entendres and salacious sniggers. I hope that at this late hour you all might jump to Ramblers defence -- but I also hope that one or two might see my point of view.

BTW I only complain when theres a Z in the month. But this time I just make a plea for standards.
And I do so in friendship toward all those I count as good company on this site and forum.
All the best. Hope the Vicars sermon tomorrow is UPLIFTING.... Anyway have a nice day.

Yours Sincerely
THEA

Hi The ambler
The expression is familiar from an advert for Fosters Lager that has appeared on the television fairly frequently - perhaps you don't watch the commercial channels?

i'm not jumping to ramblers defence but, for you to dismiss everybody else s "easy acceptance" of a phrase that perhaps you were alone in not knowing (Aristo doesn't count - he has his own equally amusing Americanism), as if somehow everybody who took part was guilty of being puerile is a bit irksome and needlessly puts a sour note on what was an entertaining thread (i thought ixions - They criminally transport wee things in cramped conditions(6,9) - was delightful).
please lighten up Thea, you knows i luv ya.

Hi again, the ambler
What do you think about this one from the Guardian on Friday?
Like a couple of missionaries‘ view of a church? (4,2,4)

thanks to all who have since posted. Hi Trev.!!!
Chrise Re the guardian clue Beyond the pale.
Quite offensive to missionaries and the implication is not true, actually its slanderous. But I never read the Gridiron. For missionaries substitute an ethnic minority and see what the feeling is.
Til Tomorrow Good night and sweet dreams

We are an international group & the term is "in the language".

I assume Theambler has not been to the beach in the last 50 years, or to Europe.
