Quite the bumper crop! There must have been lots of sunshine to have generated so many inspired offerings. There’s greedy kite’s clever use of “shot down” @3, redundantelf’s charming talking flower @7, chrise’s hibernating bear @15 (stevezodiac’s too), penda’s WWII grunt song @18, BigBad’s brilliant “I hide my passport” @19 and prism spectrum @21, the nut ixion’s superb (!) enticement @25, teff7’s massively subtractive anagram @34, AB’s sparkling gem @35, rambler’s “getting into a rut” @39…. The list goes on. I’m giving the edge to Paul with his wonderful:

I didn't envy your choice, aristo - your word gave so many different possibilities. An anagram site I sometimes use came up with over 100000 anagrams (all using valid words in English) - I didn't read them all, you won't be surprised to hear.
