Hello,
All of the answers to this quiz are the names of a fruit or a vegetable e.g. Clue: "Bowling Measure" Answer "Greengage".
The one I can't think of an answer to has the clue: "One bite of the apple". Any suggestions? There's no number of letters or anything - just that the answer is either the name of a Fruit or a Vegetable.
Thanks,
David - very amateur quiz solver

No, I haven't!
The other twenty-nine clues were reasonably okay. I'm beginning to suspect that the clue itself is a bit dodgy.
Using the other answers as a guide, this answer would likely be "Bramble" (Bramley?) or "Turnip" (nip/bite?) or something along those lines, but I can't see any logic in those.
I'm stumped!

The first thing that came to mind was "One bite of the cherry", as you can have cherry tomatos

But it makes no sense to me! Sorry

could the answer be......pea.

one bite of the apple, one letter, sounds like pea.

It's driving me nuts too!

I doubt it's as daft as this:- pearmain = apple, and one big bite of this (half?) would give us PEAR(main).

:))

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions.
I tend to favour the offer of "pea" as the "one bite of the apple" although the clue could have been more appropriate.
