Still puzzling over these two. All answers are place names in GB.

Limit of the lower leg (8)

Going from A to D musically perhaps (9)

WINDSCALE has been suggested for the second one but why? I know nothing about scales associated with wind instruments. Can anyone enlighten me please?

Mete, noun. border - boundary - bound - limit - frontier - borderline.
Calf, lower leg.
Does the answer have to be a town/ village/ shire, etc?
I've found a pub called the Metcalfe, but can't find a town, etc.

Musical scale. E,G,B,D,F. etc.

The answers are all towns, villages, hamlets, etc. Some of them are very tiny indeed.

I will investigate Metcalfe - thank you very much for the suggestion.
