OUP = the publisher with ring ( I thought in group rather than in crowd)

I think I must be getting out of touch with the setter as today had some odd clues in my opinion. Although completed (not in record time). I am starting to favour the DT over what has been my favourite Xword for a long time.
This xword has always been my favourite as it could be parsed 100 % with NO superfluous rubbish included. Either I'm losing my touch or the setter is.
What are others thoughts.
