Hi Jazzgirl. 7d - I thought `con = `rook` but didn`t get
the reason for the rest. Didn`t parse 14d at all- just guessed the author; not sure I`ve got 22ac right (roll). `I ain`t got no satisfaction` . F eel I`ve cheated ! Mags

I had role (part) sounds like roll

Really easy (15 minutes while watching the news!)

I decided on ROLE as well.

I wouldn't have described 4d as a "pancake" - aren't pancakes floppy?

Chambers defines it as "a very thin rolled pancake"
(12th edition - just treated myself). Go me!

As I said somewhere last week, I really must get a newer edition - but it would mean that I would possess four versions!

I now have three (one from 1901 which had illustrations )

That trumps me!
