I'm sure you've come to my rescue before today Mags.
There are two major problems here with a neighbour and an old friend in trouble, so finding things more difficult than normal :(

Haven 't heard from old gal for over a year now although an email was sent I understand.
I'm afraid one of the problems is "terminal" (healthwise) so very worrying time for her. The other friend has dementia.

I thought I was going to have to ask for help for the SW corner, but19 dn fell, then 23 ac and 17dn. None of these I thought were all that good.

On the other hand there were several that raised a chuckle - 7a and 6d in particular.

I knew a coffee bar that offered capuccino. If that wasn't enough, there was also a "mugaccino"!

Isn't 16dn two words?

Apparently 16 dn ISN'T two words, though, confusingly, it does have a capital letter first and also later!

if you mean 14d the Mayor of NY city,s surname is 9 letters with a capital for 3rd letter. Quite strange.

Hi jazzy
Sorry about the misnumbering.
As far as I can see, the person is two words, but the airport is one (with an included capital letter) - odd!

When typing Fiorello's surname into google, there are several hits, some having 2 words, and some with just one. When I worked in the travel industry many moons ago it was always two words except for the 3-letter airline code on the air ticket
