Can't believe it - thought I was going to have to decide between two excellent and funny clues - and now this. Please reconsider samgamgee as I'm sure no-one will think the worst of you.

I will wait until tomorrow to gauge the reaction from the other voters.

btw rambler, well noticed I put I there just for you (and possibly chrise)

Sorry, that should have read

Didn't notice the other apostrophe syzzy - only cut and pasted from Paul's previous.

Haven't we all got better things to do with our life :)

Samgamgee's clue should ride because when I read it, I thought, hey up! Is that the correct spelling, so I telephoned the little wooden chap to check and he assured me that the way Samgamgee has spelt it is very much correct, I just can't believe he would make something like that up.

Funny, Les; he told me he resented being called a "little wooden chap", preferring to be called a "person of fibrous substance" (with no reference to size).

Congratulations whoever whenever.
Thanks red elf, a fantastic word to clue I enjoyed myself even more than usual. I would say it allowed me to mentally regress to a second childhood but I keep being reminded I've never "grown up" in the first place; a bit like Peeter Pann, sorry I couldn't resist.
