My copy of the Chambers Crossword COMPLETER has nearly disintegrated. Chambers are not going to print any more. Can anybody suggest which are the best of the rest? (ie-a solutions finder, based on letters 1,3,and 5 etc., or on letters 2,4,6. I have tried one such completer but it only went up to 7 letter answers).

I always use online versions. As well as the "Quicksolve" etc. on this site, I use Chambers Word Wizard a lot. It's at:

Have you tried E-bay? Most good book shops would get a secondhand one for you at reasonable cost. I have already got some Chambers books through my local store.

Thanks Josephine. The trouble is they only last about a year and they are badly made, from paper ith a weak spine. I will try your suggestion though.
