Please can someone give a clue to 43 and 48. I must be missing something cos everyone else seems to have solved these two! I have an answer to 38 but am not completely happy as I can't get a connection to "especially when on the hoof" Any hints would be most welcome.

Hi Susiem
43. Anagram ( is one of the 7 hills of Rome)
48. Anagram 2nd 3rd and 4th words.
38. What do you call a person who gives up easily. The answer is a sore on a horses hoof.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Winnie, I had looked at the seven hills of Rome but didn't find one with 9 letters - I'll go back and re-count! I'm sure I can finish now - they are my last three. Thanks again.

On listing given by someone no. 29 was indicated as being a Q word, I could see the anagram you were referring to but that would give me too many P words my most dubious answer being 16 Advertisement with direction for finding the entrance (7)
Could I also ask for help with
91 Safe vessel showing no sign of age (5, 3)
92 Islands one featured in one's play possibly (9)
Thanks again.
