Thank you janet47. I accept the answer to 39 is P------ff
but can not understand the part of the clue .....'without the diamonds, Dickens is ruined by a loud fellow...' I can see the last part of answer describes the architects character.

Thank you Harbinger and everyone else who has helped me. Now have 50 Ps and 50 Qs. Whether they are all correct remains to be seen!

If I can help anyone else with anything please ask. I will keep checking.

without the diamonds Dickens means dickens without D. is ruined means anagram. by a loud fellow means by FF (F means loud in music,and Fellow).

"P" quietly, take the "D" from Dickens, "FF" loud fellow and change "ickens"

Janet47- re no.32 - another word for 'need' , part of which is the name for an old band of singers finishing with 50% (ie half) of the word reNT. Hope you can solve it now.

Answer a mathematical triangle .

Winnie. My breakdown of Ps and Qs is as follows.

Page 1. P = 13. Q = 16
Page 2. P = 23. Q = 18
Page 3. P = 14. Q = 16

Don't know if this will help or not?
