btw MY sp. m. are due to a sudden tendency with my computer to print only alf the letters I hit.
I'm sure Syzygy knows the answer.
Is it going to be expensive if I take it to the shop tomorrow?
Maybe it's because I've been banging them a bit hard lately (no double entendre intended).............

alf=half, of course (I've NOT suddenly gone Cockney)
P.S. This constant correcting of my own text is slowly getting on my wick....................

"On the fritz" is indeed a common expression here- same as "on the blink".

GK
Please stop hitting keyboard keys hard! I did that for a couple of years and couldn't understand why my finger joints started swelling (and eventually hurting). Someone said "Why do you hit the keys so hard?" and It suddenly clicked. I stopped and eventually my hands stopped hurting, though some of the damage is permanent.
One can do so much damage without realising it. i used to clench my jaws (damaging my teeth) and sleep tightly curled up (knee). Putting these things right has relieved a lot of pain!
How are your ribs?

I'm more worried at the moment about the damage to my computer than to myself!
Hoping for help (virtual) from Syzygy overnight
(now don't take that amiss, gentlemen).

I will be cooking on an open fire tomorrow- steak and mushrooms, with potatoes baked in the ashes. That makes me a closet- what? Girl Guide?
is it still 90 degrees where you are, aristo?
