This is driving me mad..

Was chair lifted by cleaner, say, put back -(4,6) - ?O?K ?H?R?E (Something 'Charge' but i can't even see a possible def.!)

Make up short story about emperor or giving son promotion - CONSTITUTE but how is it parsed?

Vehicle runs into difficulty on top of cliff - SPORTS CAR Again, how is it parsed?

Hi Mamya, thanks for that. In the second one, I looked at 'Spot' but can it be a Synonym for 'Trouble' if used on it's own?

Yeah you're right Mamya, I was thinking it had to be used as part of a phrase eg 'I'm in a 'Spot of trouble' but, of course, one could say 'I'm in 'Spot'.

Well worked out mamya...the "or" in the clue seems rather unneccessary

What I should say is that I am completing it as I go along, so when I relooked at the clue saw the 'or' was a typo by OP.
