I'm doing pretty badly today - only half way through and I've been on it for a couple of hours! The 12,5 clue has me totally and utterly stumped.

Clue - if you string together all the preamble, it makes a (very!!!) rough "sounds like" of a long word.

Ah, ok. Problem is I don't have 1 ac which I don't understand at all. Oh lord, not doing well today at all!

I just said 19 and 21 out loud and got it immediately. !!

1ac is a classic example of a Paul clue - guess the answer, then try to explain it. I don't think many wold be able to work "forwards" through it, though it does in fact make sense.

No - I was delayed by putting OFF as well.

Hi Leapy. The season bit is right. But it's not off-. Think about when the football season starts and what July would then be in relation to that.
