Shows what one doesn't know - I had never heard of that meaning of "domino", so I looked it up in Chambers - it's only the FIRST meaning given!

It took me a while to see that one.

I have 3 editions of Chambers and none show the game piece. But both definitions are in the OCD

Mine reads: a cape with a hood worn by a master or by a priest; a long cloak of black silk with a hood, used at masked balls, or its wearer; a mask covering the upper half of the face; one of the oblong pieces with which the game of dominoes is played....it then goes on to describe dominoes.
