I think I've got all the grid entries, but I'm lost by the instruction & by the words of introduction. Any hints?

OK - got the introduction, but can't work out what to replace it with. Any idea of which 'toy'?

Yes - I spent some time wondering what an X-Toy was and how it might speak. Should have known better as there was a lovely Listener some weeks back where you had to 'remove all the squares containing ATOM' - and I got stuck for ages on precisely the same thing.
