Hi jolan
Thanks again - 1,2 and 5 this week.
"Byzantine" was used as an anagram indicator in todays Guardian (Byzantine Empire's assumption (7)) - is this a weird coincidence, or had you seen it?

It's a weird coincidence! I don't get a newspaper these days.

Great solving folks. I've just come home from a trip to the nearest village.

MANY THANKS to ALL who've participated today.

Djaw, Ari and peterm have a 'full house'. I'm a bit rushed at the moment as we're expecting a visitor and I have to clear at least six courses before they come.

Bless all

I'll take a peek in tonight

John

I put processed for 5! as in processed cheese - what a plonker! Got the rest right though. Great set of clues Jolan
