Jazzgirl - thanks once again. One of several possibilities, but I couldn't see how it fitted the clue. All clear now !

I really struggle with this crossword lately. Maybe I'm demotivated - since the stamps went up I've stopped entering.

It really should be possible to enter on-line these days.

mmm, well I didn't enjoy this week's puzzle much, found it quite difficult, so I really feel inferior to all you exceptional puzzlers who all found it a breeze.
Perhaps it was my mood this week, but yes, I struggled at the beginning. I still have that one little one left to solve, which nobody else has mentioned, so again I feel a dimwit. 23ac - I hope it is *L*I* -is it? Midsummer tonight, I think, so it's all downhill from here, yet still we have rubbish, exceptionally weird weather. Am I being a tad grumpy (old woman)?

Hello everyone especially glad that you have posted angelmcm as I too found this week hard going. Indeed am still stuck on 6A `Element of theatre` Any help appreciated. Also stuck on 2D - that old sit com.
