Which of these is the odd one out, and what are the others please.

Hi Amelia, are they referring to words, and if so can you post them, as it's not apparent what it is you have posted.

Than ks Sally for taking a look at this one.
All I can tell you is that it is in a quiz I am trying to do and the instructions say "Please underline the odd one out and say what links those that remain. All the others have seemed to have a logical answer example: bowline, hitch, plant reef, slip. (all knots except plant)
So here are the options again , really have no inkling where to start on this one

8 i, 4c, 8p, 12m, 10w

Could it have something to do with Scrabble?
The no. of letters or their values?

10 is the only one not divisible by 4.
I suspect that's probably not much use.
