I was frozen out in more ways than one; I couldn't get onto the forum at all. No problem with other sites, just this one. Curious. Makes sense to shorten time to fifteen minutes; most paint dries in less than half an hour, but it's still less than riveting to observe the process.

I'm going to have a little rant now. This game was allowed to die several times through lack of interest. People have ideas about changing it without even thinking about how you would rewrite the intro to make sense let alone be prepared to do it. Most weeks anniec and I think we are the only people playing.

Understood, AQER. It would be nice to be able to tell how many of us are "playing"; sometimes it does seem as if no one's out there. Also, I'm not the only one who's mentioned having internet problems or trouble getting onto this site. It's extremely frustrating when you're trying to post a response and everyone's waiting. Anyway, you're right; we shouldn't change the rules on a whim.

Thanks, aristo. If you are still there I wonder if you can help my wife solve the last clue of her concise crossword?

American biscuit (6,7)

She has G?E?A? CRACKER

Something definitely wrong today, I've just been unable to access the site for at least an hour, kept trying but just kept saying connection problems

Are you sure of the e? Could be Graham Cracker?

I'm sure that's it AB.

She's got 'retreat' for 'withdraw' for the down clue so the second E is wrong. She starts these concise crosswords and then hands them to me!

Oh, AQER, do you want to hear a legitimate complaint? My wife does crosswords in lower-case cursive. Drives. Me. Crazy.
