Can anyone help with this one ....?
Two successive letters with 51,one short (9)
I have been trying to work it out using LI but I think the answer to no 51 is bindweed if that helps..!
Any suggestions welcome and gratefully received.

Hi Paige. You're right to use 'LI. First find two letters of the alphabet, (near the beginning) with the word 'and' in between them. Then shorten 'one' after the LI. It should give you a very common weed.

Can anyone give me clues for the following:
(I think they both have a river connection?)

54) The sound of an ass announced the Old Testament to be extravagantly chivalrous (3,7)

73) Steps often taken with reels (10)

Any help greatly appreciated

73. I'm no expert on scottish dancing, but a quick google shows that strathspey is a dance (i.e. steps) which is tradionally followed by a reel (another dance,as I expect you know). and of course spey is the river.

I think I must be doing the wrong quiz - I will stick to something less brain killing next time.

Many thanks for the help.

Ninian, that's ok. I'm not scottish and I couldn't live much further from scotland. but I visit the borders regularly to see friends, and done a fair amount of salmon/trout fishing there. lovely part of the country, just avoid the scotch pies.
