I think a definite finishing time for entries must be established, voting to start 1 hour later and finishing say 2 hours later; multiple entries allowed but of course only one vote per entrant

Can't stop, too busy creating new user names so that I can vote for my own clue!! (Tee hee, not really being sarcastic but it just needs pointing out)

Sorry, just seen Phillip's posting thus:

ps. is it OK to make lots of entries using alias names and then manage a block vote for myself. if it isn't how will you know-after all vote rigging is a well established tradition of democracy.

A new contest for midweek;

The idea (like Clueless) is to set a cryptic clue to a given answer.

The twist is everyone who posts a clue gets to comment on the clues AND vote for the winner (not yourself). Multiple entries are welcome. You MUST post a clue for your vote to count. One vote per contestant – please state the post number you are voting for.
The entry with the most qualifying votes wins and sets next week’s PEER REVIEW. In the event of a tie the setter chooses the winner.

There is 1 day time frame. Your clue must be posted by 1.30pm Friday; voting opens at 1.30pm Friday. The voting deadline is 4.30pm Friday, the winner to be announced shortly afterwards. The setter donates an online prize.

This week I'll kick off early with PEER REVIEW CLUE 1 -

FRIENDSHIP

Hope you enjoy the game! (and play fair...)

It doesn't deal with the situation where a entrant doesn't vote, which is a major omission. Those that don't vote should be disqualified.

Well can we bring today's voting forward to 13.00hrs so that I can still catch my ferry to France?

Alternatively, if the wifi is working on Condor I can do it from there...
