This is not helping me with the cafeteria or the church, but just as a matter of interest,Ch claims glede/gled is "biblical, now Scottish or Northern English,(means) the COMMON kite (so not me of course)& stems from Old English glidan=to glide ---which you can witness here in the hills of Gers almost every minute. So I've returned to my spiritual (carnal) home, you see...BUT WHAT ABOUT that Irish exp. --- could it begin Kirk O'something perhaps?Or Kill?Or Kick?Or King?Certainly not Kite (I'm more than just an organ)...Your cue now...

Looked it up and they do call those things steam tables. Perhaps this is a derogatory Presbie term.

Not sure about this one, dear friend.Think we might have to wait for sdkl's definitive answer.Did notice en passant in Ch though that steamer can also be stewed kangaroo flavoured with pork...Was just going to invite you round for a celebratory glass (or 5) of our very own home-brewed (but LEGAL) eau-de-vie --- it's really delicious, better than anything you can buy, even here --- but that's not so easy on the net,is it...pity,the virtual version dioesn't taste as good...actually I'm seriously busy losing 20kg in 6 months, despite birthday,Christmas,New Year:once managed exactly that in half the time before visiting Bolivia, landing at the height of Mont Blanc...oh,well,let's just finish this last one,the "assigning " I shall not attempt before tomorrow.Still there, anybody?

20 kilos is I think about 44 US pounds,if you can imagine that! I fear I gave my cocktail books away in Hamburg before leaving,so what's a Sam Adams when he's at home?
