Ah yes , gorgon! It would seem I was a little hasty ;)

The other one, all I cn think of is 'salt', as in an experienced sailor but it doesn't fit with your letters and is a bit tenuous...

I was thinking of salt too, but was also thinking of soup for the learned part (So up)
but thats tenuous with the seasoning part
