Good Luck Helena !

An interesting aside ...

Cricketers in the hilly north of England have known of this lack-of-echo phenomenon for ages and even coined the phrase 'owt for a duck.

Re the spat between Celadon/Terry/JimC as to whether a duck's quack has or has not an echo,I would like to suggest that you contact Sir Peter Viggers,MP,who will no doubt be able to assist in answering this burning question.
I believe he has now moved from his residence taking his duck house with him.

JimC (and anybody else who thinks ducks don't produce an echo).

Google "echo duck".

Terry,
All I know is that when I crack my head on a beam in a pub which carries the inscription "Duck or Grouse", my head goes swimming!

What about the old tree falling in a forest, and the sound of one hand clapping. echos? I think not!

Also music producer Nile Rogers recording snare drums - no echos!

Ducks aren't unique (or even a valid example). tskk!

Terry !

Are you suggesting that the no-echo phenomenon is just some sort of quack theory?
