lol - I haven't - still got grid E to do - the only name that appears in Chambers makes that part "as" which I think can mean "who" as a pronoun

Finally done - found grid E the hardest - luckily it had a few laughs in it to keep me going.

I see somebody else is an insomniac solver. Only really able to do this when my wife brought an A3 photocopied blow-up back from work tonight (Friday). Grids C & D complete, and about half of A. Still wondering if I've got the correct symbol for D8AC. It really is mind-blowing. I wish I could stop looking at the wrong set of clues for the grid I'm working on.

Thanks Ixion and K trout, should have been obvious. Finished A,B,C and half of D but have had to promise not to spend the rest of today on this so hope someone is around tomorrow to help out!

Thanks Sodokulover. There was some discussion elsewhere of using another symbol meaning "greater than" (also 2 lines), presumably because does not give "over" as a meaning for /. I think on balance you are right, because then the maths wouldn't scan.
