Only just got round to this! An excellent puzzle.
AJT - followed your advice, and got most of the clues by definition, then had some fun sorting out which cryptic bits fitted each clue.
Quite a nice change!

8A begins with an "A" Teenleek - "one with a hanging basket" - linked with 7D

I know puzzle is old hat but I set it aside some time ago only to recommence.
Assuming 26A is Uncle Tom I'm at a loss to where the cryptic element is. The Nick Clegg reference maybe?
Also the hanging basket of 8A I donot see any slot for it.
Help please

The cryptic part for 26ac is in 24ac. It's the first letters of all the words following "primarily".

And for 8ac, the definition to be entered is "one with a hanging basket". The cryptic part is in the clue for 7dn.

Thank you for that Peterm. I didn't go the whole way with initials. Did you enjoy 1D, Peter?, over and out.
